Feel Pressed? Verbally Express

While in prayer and deep communion with God, do not merely ask Him for change, declare it. God has given us community, people to walk life with; declare and proclaim truth over their lives, declare victory over their battles. When we are in prayer, we use our words to speak directly to God, and frankly, to the enemy. We go to God for guidance, help and to rejoice in His name, there are times that I speak directly to the enemy and boldly declare truth into situations; affirming that the enemy has no hold on me, my peers and leaders.

When we are praying for the people in our lives, are we simply saying “Dear heavenly father, prepare my friends day today and guide her on this big decision” or are you going farther? Are you going more intentional, genuine and bold with the words that you are speaking? We should be praying for others, the same way we pray for ourselves; the people in our lives are also worthy and in need of a bold, desperate and tongues on fire prayer!

Chains are broken, bodies are healed, and lives transformed by the breath and words spoken. When we lay hands and speak aloud, that’s when breakthrough and miracles happen because we are allowing God to intercede in us, we are acknowledging with our tongues that He is the physician and the redeemer. It is our actions that activate faith but know and acknowledge that the mighty breath of God flows through you! He has given you power and it lives within you! Feel pressed? Verbally express, let the breath of God flow! You are claiming truth, taking back the light and letting the enemy in on the fact that not only God and his angels have hold on our lives but there are foot soldiers, you and I, on this Earth lifting our voices during spiritual warfare others are facing.

In Revelations 21:3-4 it says “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” If you ever doubt that you do not have what it takes to pray over someone, come back to this verse, it is written proof that the God we view as merciful, gracious, strong and Almighty resides in us. It’s not always easy to walk over to someone and ask to pray over them, I get that, I’ve been there. There have been times when I felt God pressed on my heart to pray over someone, whether we were on the phone or meeting up and I don’t because I allowed insecurity to overtake me. It’s even harder when you view that person to be a prayer warrior, a servant of God who themselves pray prophetically and with boldness. Insecurity begins to creep in and lies such as “my prayers aren’t as bold as theirs, they always speak so much truth and life into my life when they pray for me. What if my prayer doesn’t do the for them?” When these thoughts and lies cross my mind, I remind myself of the blessings I have received through another person’s faithfulness. There have been many times that prayers and words spoken by others have brought me revelations and confirmations about decisions I have made in my life. At times it is through prayer from someone else that God has spoken to me the loudest, He uses people as vessels and mouth pieces. It is our friend’s voice but our Lord’s words. If that person had not obeyed God and His direction to take a step of faith and pray for me, I wouldn’t have gotten the confirmation through them from God. Sometimes He shows me that I’m aligned with his plan through the words people pray with me. So why should I, out of fear or insecurity, rob someone else from hearing from God? These same people that we hesitate to pray over, they too need our bold prayers. There is not one person on this Earth that is not worthy or deserving of prayer. Declare truth and victory over others as Jesus did as He walked this Earth.

Colossians 1:9 “And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.” There are times in our lives where we’ve prayed constantly and powerfully, but sometimes we need to tag someone in to help lift us up. It is our community and people that we walk life with that help encourage and speak life into situations. We pray for one another to gain Godly wisdom, that head knowledge becomes heart knowledge, this is the groundwork and upcoming of a prayer warrior. I encourage you to step out in faith when you are called to, God will not only speak through you, but will ignite a fire in your soul. There is no feeling that comes close to the feeling of God coursing through your veins and the words seem to flow like a waterfall in prayer. In “Chase the Lion” by Mark Batterson, a book I highly recommend everyone read, he perfectly puts it, “God is in the business of strategically positioning us in the right place at the right time” (pg. 40) You are on the phone with the person who you need to be speaking to, you are in this situation with these people for a reason. God wants to use you, allow Him to use your voice. Fear and insecurity has to go because all that is holy and good belongs to God, live in that peace and once you do, you can step out without hesitation because the mighty God that you have great confidence in dwells in you and has offered his strength to you. So, I’ll say it again, feel pressed? Verbally express.
